After three months of evening coding sessions, I finally have a working prototype of a real-time collaborative Markdown editor. It uses WebSocket connections for live synchronization between multiple users, CRDTs for conflict resolution, and a custom parser that converts Markdown to rich preview in real time. The backend runs on Go with Redis for pub/sub messaging, and the frontend is built with React and CodeMirror. The hardest part was handling concurrent edits without losing user intent. I learned more about operational transformation and conflict-free replicated data types than I ever expected. The project is still rough around the edges, but it handles up to 20 simultaneous users with minimal latency. I’d love feedback on the architecture decisions and suggestions for the next iteration.
